TODAY IS OCTOBER 10TH 2010! 10.10.10! But anyways, It’s been so long since I’ve written. To be honest, there hasn’t been much going on, basically there’s been the start of school, a few trips, and we’ve gotten two new kids I think? But yeah, it’s all good though, because in two weeks, I will have TONS to write about.. considering the fact that we’re going to BARCELONA. YES. I’m excited, and I can’t wait to take pictures. Lovely, lovely, pictures. We’re meeting my mom’s best friend, Bonnie, in Spain, and then after a week, we’re coming back to Clermont, and just chilling here for the rest of October break. While we’re on the subject of breaks, I think I’m gonna tell you what’s up with us this year. So as you know, this month, we’re going to Barcelona, in, November, we’re going to LIVERPOOL! HOME OF THE BEATLES! In December, we’re going to the Alps with our dear favorite family in the area, how lovely right? It’s for Christmas! So I can’t wait to write about that. Then I think in February, we’re heading to Egypt, or at least my mom wants to. We’re not sure yet. In April, my cousin and my uncle are coming, so I’m EXCITED FOR THAT! YES. And in the summer, I’m trying to get my mom to let one of my best friends, from America, Layla, to come. Which would be fun. And my mom wants to go to England then, but I’m trying to convince her to let us go to Rome. I think that would be fun. :)
But yeah, so today, we went to this small “Medieval” town, like 30 minutes away from Clermont, and I guess it was fun… But on the way their, it rained, so we were walking around in cold wet. haha. I don’t have much else to say, so for now, Bye:) And I’ll be writing more in a week or so.
xx, Nicole.
PS. I got my braces off:) LOVELY RIGHT!?

Ohhhh weeeeee. Haven’t been on here in a while. In the time I’ve last blogged (can’t even remember) we:
-Went on a small day trip around Auvergne
-My daddy came to visit:)
-We went to Lyon with the Abarotins! (Our closest family friends here pretty much.)
-I went to the orthodontist again!
Not that that last part counts, because no one cares about my orthondture needs. But if you do, I might be getting my braces off on my next trip! Cool right!? RIGHT!? Yeah, that’s what I though.
But we had a long weekend last weekend, and at first we were going to go to ENGLAAAAAAND, but we ended up going to Lyon! Because Lyon is only 2 hours away. So we invited our friends the Abarotins! And we went! I know that Ryan, Em, and I got a great laugh out of it. It’s always great being around them. They’re family consists of their parents, and then their two sons Cameron, 16 like Ryan, and Avery, 11 like Em. They both make us grow abs everytime we’re around them, that’s how much we laugh I think. Maybe not that much… but you get my exaggeration here. So we went to Lyon, and we went to the Cathedrals, some museums (one was a miniature museum, which consisted of many rooms built miniature. I thought it was pretty cool. It also had models of things from movies.), and we also went to the zoo! Which was hysterical, might I add. But in the Cathedral, they have prayer candles. They’re red, white, and blue. So of course Cameron and Ryan came up with an idea. Ryan, Cameron, and I then spent about five or ten minutes arranging all the red white and blue candles into an American Flag… Remember we were in a French cathedral… hahahaha. We were laughing sooo hard. But yeah, we all had fun, and I’ll post pictures later if there are any questions, do ask, I’m not afraid to answer, thanks.
-xx Nicole.

Okay, so I didn’t post this last night, because I kind of forgot and got a bit lazy. But oh well, let me tell you about our trip:)
So on Friday, April 9th, my mom took us out of school early:) We came home for lunch, like normal, and then we just didn’t go back to school after that. So we left around 1 or 2 maybe? But I remember, that the drive didn’t seem all that long. Probably cause I slept half the way. but when we got into Paris traffic, it wasn’t as bad as my mom thought it would be. We got a little closer to the city, and then I screamed. Weird, right? Yeah, it was because I saw the Eiffel Tower. This is how it went
Nicole: OH MY GOSH!
Emily/Mom/Ryan: WHAT!?
Nicole: THE EIFFEL TOWER!
Everyone else: Oh. where!?
Nicole: RIGHT THERE! pointing in the direction that the Eiffel Tower was in
Everyone else: Oh I see it now.
Nicole: freaking out and stuff because I just saw the Eiffel Tower.
Ryan: Nicole calm down. -_-
Nicole: IT’S THE FREAKING EIFFEL TOWER! YOU CAN’T JUST CALM DOWN!
Ryan: Stop yelling, Nicole.
Nicole: THE EIFFEL TOWER!
Ryan: I know, you’ve already said that.
Yeah, I took like 75 pictures and we were probably 538761509832144354326734534 feet away from it. I’m such a nerd. Right… right? Yeah, that’s what I thought. But when we got into Paris actually, we went and found our hotel/where we were staying. After that, we went to park our car. Then, we ended up somewhere… But after that, we walked around for a while and went Ways to Get To The Notre Dame Hunting. Yeah, we never found it… BUT! We did find a place to eat! And then we decided not to eat there anymore, so we went and found some other place… haha, yeah but the other place looked better than the first place:) Then, we walked around a bit, and then I made everyone go to the Eiffel Tower, because it was night! And it was supposed to be really pretty at night… BUT IT WAS UGLY. No just kidding, it was gorgeous:) So we came out of the metro, which I was scared to take, because it’s underground and everyone’s close together and I get claustrophobic sometimes. Only sometimes. That happened to be one of the times. So when we came out of the metro, I saw these spotlights in the sky, and I was like, “Hmm, must be a search party!” But it WASN’T a search party! It was the spotlights going off at the top of the Eiffel Tower! And I saw the Eiffel Tower, even though we were still 348716324 feet away from it, and I started showing EVERY FORM OF EXCITEMENT any person could show! I mean, could I have been much more of a tourist? Yeah, probably… but you get where I’m going. I was dancing, and doing leaps, singing, jumping up and down, screaming… yeahhhhh… that’s me. Just so you know. So we went there, to the Eiffel Tower, and the people selling souvenirs would get ALL UP IN MY FACE. Yeah, they weren’t afraid to. But I just ignored it. So we went and took a few pictures, and then left. The excitement died down after we got up close. Yeah, we went to go find some ice cream after that, and it took FOREVER to find somewhere. But when we did, it was goooood:) haha.
The next day, we went and picked up my grandmother at the very confusing, very big Place de la Bastille. We found her eventually, in front of the Opera. After we found her, we headed back to the hotel and put her stuff in the room. I think next, we went to the Notre Dame… yeah, that’s what we did, we went to the Notre Dame. It was beautiful actually. Like better than I had imagined it. I imagined it with clouds over it and lightening and like rain, but it was sunny, and GORGEOUS like everything else in Paris. But then next we found a spot on the street that sold crêpes, so we went and got some and then ate them at the park across the street. They were gooooood, and filling!:) I recommend getting something like that from a vender on the street for lunch or something if you ever visit. So next… we went to the LOUVRE! I was so excited:) Haha, I picked out the Notre Dame too, but I wanted to see the Monna Lisa. So when we came out of the metro, we were in the mall that was right next to the Louvre… so we didn’t actually have to wait in that ridiculous line outside the glass pyramid that gets into the Louvre, which was cool:) haha. But Ryan and I split up from everyone else, and we went in search of Monna. <— her name is actually spelled with two n’s did you know that? I thought it was cool. But yeah, Ryan and I walked through pretty much the whole paintings section, and we couldn’t find her. Turns out we missed a turn that she was in… but yeah, then we went and saw her, and she really wasn’t as great as I expected. I mean, it was totally different seeing her with my own two eyes… but she really isn’t that beautiful… But oh well, I guess other people have to disagree with me. So yeah, we left after seeing her, and we made our way over to Napoleon’s tomb! Though we didn’t really see HIS tomb, we just saw where his tomb was and went inside the building it was at. Yeah, but you could see the Eiffel Tower from a view, and it looked reallyyyyy pretty with the almost setting sun:) So after that, we went back to the hotel room, and then we went and got dinner! We got dinner at the place that we had ice cream the night before, and they remembered us! Haha, yeah. But then after that we got more ice cream, but this time from Ben & Jerry’s, but because I insisted on it.
Then, the last day, we, my mom, sister, and I, went and ate breakfast at our bakery/patisserie that we had adopted, because it was tooooo good. So then, we went to the EIFFEL TOWER! Again! But this time, we went inside it:) It was pretty too! But it was coooooold! But worth it! So after that, we went back to the hotel, and we went and had breakfast/lunch! Also known as BRUNCH! But it wasn’t really brunch, it was more lunch than breakfast. But you get it. So AFTER that, we went to the ARC DE TRIOMPHE! Which is what I was planning to go to the whole time pretty much! But when we came out of the underground tunnel thing, and saw it… it was so HUGE! Like wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bigger than I’d expected! I was all WOAH! But it was pretty too:) And I would’ve gone inside, but we didn’t get tickets, and no one wanted to come with me:/ Oh well. There’s always NEXT TIME!
After that, we pretty much just went to find our car, and then we left. All in all, I say we had a pretty good trip:) And I highly recommend every single place we went to. If there’s any certain details you’d like to know, comment on this post and ask:) I’m open to answers! But I’ll write anything else later, thanks for reading:)
